New Golf Club Technology

A couple of years ago my roommate was really into golfing for one reason or another. He was working at a regular office job, so I’m assuming he was planning to meet clients and wanted to use golf as a way to find a common interest. But none of us had any experience playing golf, other than mini golf, which is good (possibly) for putting. So we started going to a nearby driving range to learn some of the basics of golf, like how to hold the club and practicing swinging and actually hitting of the balls. The first couple of times we went to the driving range, we went with another friend who was pretty experienced, so we tried to learn as much from him. The grip for holding a golf club was foreign to me so it took some time to get used to. I remember one of my roommates was getting so frustrated trying to learn the grip that he stopped and just held it how he would hold a baseball bat. Without getting into all the details, I would not recommend that method.

We went to the driving range so often that we all decided to get our own pair of golf gloves. My brother actually had a set of golf clubs with him (I’m pretty sure he borrowed it from someone, but never returned). I knew he never used them, so I took them from him to use at the driving range so we didn’t always have to borrow from our friend. The problem with those clubs was that they were pretty cheap, I think they were Spalding brand (I thought they only made basketballs!) One of my roommates actually broke one of the drivers while taking a swing! Improvements in golf products and equipment has improved recently, they even make hybrid golf clubs which I never knew existed. They basically incorporate a number of features and technologies to help improve lift and speed at impact while maintaining a light and comfortable feel.
