I ran the Kaiser Permanente San Francisco 5K in 2015 and surprisingly placed 3rd in my age group. But that was when I was in much better shape, so I do not expect to run as well this time around and will be running the 10K. The race takes place in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park and is a fast, downhill race and certified by USA Track & Field. The Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Half Marathon, 10K & 5K presented by Pamakid Runners raises funds to support San Francisco Bay Area community organizations.
This is one of the most popular races in San Francisco, you get to run through the popular Golden Gate Park on a fast and downhill course. There is a lot to do at the park after the race as well as delicious restaurants nearby. I don’t remember if we were able to see the Golden Gate Bridge while running the 5K, but I just checked and the best view of the bridge around Golden Gate Park is actually the de Young Museum. They have an observation deck that people can visit for free. It’s not too late to register for the Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Half Marathon, 10K & 5K, visit the website here.
