Post-Workout Recovery Methods

Everybody has had that feeling before. They pick up a new sport or activity and the very next day, their body feels like death. The reason for that is pretty obvious. You only use certain muscles on a daily basis, so when you try out something new, most likely, you’re going to use muscles that are rarely used. Similar to working out a new part of your body, your muscles tear while they’re in use and sleeping actually helps your muscles expand so that the next time you do that same workout, you have a higher threshold (e.g. you get stronger). I still remember when I first started working out at the gym, began running, and even after my first time snowboarding. The very next day, so many different muscles in my body were sore! But to me it made me feel like I actually did something productive. Good thing there are many different options to help with muscle soreness.

People recommend stretching before and/or after a workout, using heating pads on sore muscles while others even take full on ice baths to prevent soreness altogether. Something that’s more innovative is The LG-TEC Dual Combo TENS Unit and Muscle Stimulator, which is a combination unit that enables you to benefit from the TENS Pain Relief and the Muscle Stimulator for increased muscle tone and muscle pain rehabilitation. Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) is a non-invasive, drug-free method of controlling pain. Electronic Muscle Stimulators (EMS) Stimulate, Re-educate, Massage, and Build Muscle. So instead of physically putting the pressure on your muscles to stretch them out, you’re sitting in the comfort of your own home and having this machine work your muscles out for you. Although, this is something I have never tried before, there are many people who have and swear by them. So whatever method you decide to use, once your body gets over that soreness, you have no excuses for not getting back out there!
