When I first started running in high school, the only necessary gear at that time were running shoes. Everything else was just an afterthought, we didn’t care whether our clothes were moisture-wicking or if we had the latest running gadget (most had not been invented yet). We were able to run just as fast as the neighboring high schools that had adequate funding for their cross country program. Because of that, we always ran with a chip on our shoulders and when we beat them at big invitational races, it felt even sweeter. Fast forward to post-college when I started running again but more for health and fitness than competition. Starting this running blog has given me numerous opportunities to test and review different health and fitness gadgets and gear. One of the first things I tested on my running blog were compression socks.
Up until then, I mostly ran in regular cotton socks, which most runners know can be irritating and painful, especially on long runs. Compression socks served a different purpose. They are usually worn post-run to help improve ciruclation of the blood. They can be useful if you are on your feet often, or travel a lot as well. For runners that do long runs, this can be very useful to help prevent soreness, aches, and pains. Wearing compression socks can help you recover from your runs a lot faster to get back on your next run.
Some of the benefits that Extreme Fit Compression Socks provide include:
- Reduces swelling and pain
- Energizes legs and feet
- All day comfort and pain release
- Promotes muscle recovery
The next thing about their socks is that they offer a variety of styles and designs. I have always enjoyed wearing funky, colorful socks since I feel like that is something you can be ‘extreme’ about and share with others with the same addiction.
