KÜHL Performance Tee Review

Just great product, pure and simple

When I started competing in races many years ago, the two things I got out of racing (besides the competition) was a finisher’s medal and race shirt. And while the medal was nice to show off every now and then, but the shirts were much more useful for me. I wore them every time I went out for a run. Local races would usually give cotton t-shirts, which almost always ended up being used as rags, but then the bigger races would give moisture wicking tech tees, which I loved and still wear to this day. When it comes to performance clothing, there are certain brands that stand out above the rest.

I had the opportunity to test and review a few shirts from the brand, KÜHL. If your company name sounds like cool, you need to be a fun brand, make clothing to keep you cool while exercising. Fortunately, KÜHL does both. I found this on their About page: “Our livelihood depends on you and your satisfaction with our product. We never forget it.” Those core values help keep a company from getting too big and focusing more on sales and revenue rather than customer satisfaction.

The two shirts I received to test were the CASHMERINO and KLIMITIZER™ T. For shirts that cost more than $50 each, there must be something in the design and fabric that warrants the price. The CASHMERINO claims to be the world’s softest merino crew and I have to admit, it is very soft! The KLIMITIZER™ T is made of Merino wool/Tencel blend. I previously tested and still wear a shirt made out of bamboo materials, and tencel is supposed to be very similar to that. This shirt is also just as soft as the CASHMERINO. In addition to being soft, these shirts are very lightweight and have done a great job wicking moisture and sweat while I run. I am certain these shirts will replace my old race tech tees in my running routine.

One final note about KÜHL, again this was from their About page: “Our goal is simple: source responsibly, provide a higher quality of living for all involved and make the best damn product with the least amount of environmental impact.” They make clothes for men and women, shirts, pants and outerwear all in different colors and styles.
