Mizuno Wave Sky Running Shoe Review

When I first started running in high school, I never understood the importance of good running shoes. Not just good quality, but running shoes that actually fit your specific running style and cadence. At the time, I (well, my parents) couldn’t really afford top of the line running shoes. I basically bought whatever was on sale or cheapest, no matter the brand or style.
I was fortunate enough to learn about the nuances of all the different running shoes when I started running again as an adult. I visited a specialty running store where they recorded myself running on a treadmill and would play back the part where my foot would land and push off the ground while running. It was amazing to see how awkward my feet hit the ground but the specialist would go on to explain the different running styles and how different types of shoes provide more or less support depending on your gait.
Fast forward and now I truly get to appreciate the different features that running shoes has to offer. In addition to the obvious color palettes and design styles, you have things like things like weight and arch support that you need to factor in when buying a pair of running shoes.
I had the opportunity to test out the new Mizuno Wave Sky. I’m actually wearing them now as I am writing this review and I have to say, they are one of the most comfortable pairs of running shoes I have ever worn! A cool and unique design is always a plus. But the moment I slipped into the shoes, I knew they were going to provide just the right amount of support and traction that I need in a pair of running shoes.
The Mizuno #WaveSky is Mizuno’s newest neutral trainer running shoe. The ‘cloudwave technology’ makes you feel like you are literally running on clouds (they sport the most u4icX foam of any Mizuno shoe). I’ve never actually ran on clouds but I would imagine it would feel something like this. I’ve had the pleasure of testing out a few other Mizuno running shoes, so I can definitely feel the improvement on these.
