Panther Vision Powercap Headlamp & Running LED Lighted Hats Review
When you think of a hat and light combination, I’m sure most people will picture one of those coal miner hats that are common in cartoons and TV shows. But there are actually other types of hats that are useful for things other than coal mining. Panther Vision specializes in innovative, “hands free” ultra-bright LED task lighting solutions. They make hats for people that are active or are busy using their hands and need a light source for whatever they’re doing. Example situations that make Panther Vision hats useful include: hunting and fishing, home repair, grilling, walking a pet and much more.
Instead of just strapping a light source onto a regular hat, Panther Vision took their time to design and manufacture hats with different styles, colors, and features. The switch is conveniently located underneath the brim to make it easy to turn on and off. The light source uses coin cell lithium batteries hidden within the sweatband and allows you to change it when needed.
The Powercap 25/75 Men’s Running LED Lighted Hat is a great accessory for night runs or if you’re daring, early morning runs. Whenever I go on runs, I usually stick to main roads with street lamps present. But there are types when I want to go off the main roads and side streets without much lighting outdoors. This is where the Powercap would be helpful, I can wear the hat like a regular running hat but use the light source to see up ahead and all around me. The hats are lightweight and have moisture wicking fabrics and sweatbands on the inner lining to keep sweat out of your eyes during a run.
The Powercap Exp100 Headlamp LED Light Hat offers a very bright light with 60 Lumens with LEDs angled down so you can see up ahead of you at night or in a dark situation. The on/off switch has multiple light functions from just a little bit of light to the maximum output. This hat uses 3 AAA batteries and can provide light for up to 117 hours until you need to replace the batteries. There’s also a built-in battery saver that turns off the light after 15 minutes of inactivity.
I will bike to and from work on occasion and one of the main roads in my route has absolutely no street lights along the road. I have a headlamp on my bike, but it’s either wearing out or just not bright enough. I think either one of these Powercaps would be perfect for this situation. I can see far enough in front of me to have time to react to whatever is ahead (random item on the street or pothole, for example). There are so many other useful functions for the Powercap, the possibilities are endless!
