Shock Doctor Active Insole Review
I actually have a little insole story I’d like to tell. Back in 2010, I had the opportunity to visit New York for the first time for a work conference. I was excited because I planned to take some time off before to do touristy and site-seeing things. Since I needed to dress nice for the conference, I decided to pack dress shoes along with running shoes (definitely had to go for a run around Central Park!). But after the first day of walking around, my feet were killing me! My dress shoes weren’t made for long walks, just interviews and weddings.. My running shoes didn’t exactly match the rest of my clothes, so I decided to swap out the insoles of my dress shoes with my running shoes (replaced recently). I was surprised at how much of a difference they made. Since then I’ve made sure to always check to see if my insoles have enough support.
I got a few insoles to test out from Shock Doctor. If you aren’t aware, they’re mainly known for their mouth guards, but they recently expanded to insoles. These insoles are tailored for active athletes shock absorption, stability and support for whatever activity they’re currently involved in. They have 3 new active insoles:
- Active Ultra offers ultimate alignment, stability and shock absorption for all athletes and activities
- Active Impact is designed to absorb impact and reduce fatigue from longer runs and hikes and harder surfaces
- Active Performance is designed to reduce fatigue of active running, walking and hiking with long-lasting support.
Featuring Shock Doctor’s groundbreaking Adaptive Arch technology, which adapts to all foot shapes and arch heights,Control Bar, Full-Foot Foam and Integrated Shock Pads, every product in the new Performance Sport Insoles collection offers users a pro-active solution to protecting their feet and joints from injury while maximizing performance. The most adaptable insole choice on the market, Shock Doctor Performance Sport insoles enhance athletic performance, protection and recovery, allowing athletes to compete at the highest level without sacrificing comfort or support.
Ever since that first trip to New York, I have been a huge advocate of insoles. Yes, shoe manufacturers have done a better job designing the insoles along with the shoes. But sometimes they just wear out before the shoe does. And this is where insole companies like Shock Doctor can help. Even though Shock Doctor just released these insoles, they have a reputation with their other product lines. I used to wear braces in high school and I never wore a mouth guard which was pretty risky if you ask me. Shock Doctor is one of the best names in terms of mouth guards for support and comfort, and I’m sure they used that experience and knowledge in creating these new active insoles.
