San Diego Craft Classic 5K Race Preview

With so many different races popping up these days, new races need some type of differentiator that makes it worth it for runners to register for. Not too long ago, all we had were 5Ks, half marathons, and full marathons. These days, there are bubble runs, night runs, rave runs, and of course, obstacle runs. The less competitive, casual races have the biggest draws for non-runners. These are active individuals who enjoy the social aspect of running in a race, but not necessarily competing against others to win. There is nothing wrong with that, they are still getting out of bed at the crack of dawn to walk, jog, or run with hundreds of others. That is why I am excited to be participating in the San Diego Craft Classic 5K on July 14. As the title says, the race takes place at a craft brewery, the swag follows the same theme:
- “On A Beer Run” T-Shirt or Women’s Tank Top
- Custom Finisher Medal
- Commemorative Beer Glass
- Drink Ticket
While not unique from other races, there is also a beer garden at Green Flash Brewing Co. The tasting room will also offer a 25% discount on draft beer for all race bib holders. What better way to spend your Sunday morning after running a 5K or half marathon than chugging a beer and hanging out with friends and family?
